Jessica Smith is the Station Manager for Southwest Airlines at MSY. She started her career with Southwest in 2016 working as a Ramp Agent at BNA. In 2019, she landed at MSY as the Manager of Ramp and Operations and has continued to move up the ranks ever since. She likes that no two days are alike and has a passion for building strong relationships with those she leads and coaching and mentoring the future leaders of Southwest Airlines.

During Women’s History Month, we are featuring women who are excelling at their craft in nontraditional roles in aviation.
Meet Lacee Ancar, the first female firefighter with MSY ARFF. She joined the team in January and just completed ARFF training. She says that being a firefighter allows her the freedom to do other things that she is passionate about including tennis and photography. She credits the independence she learned from attending an all-girl school from a young age and the discipline she learned from being a student-athlete in helping her navigate the fire academy. ...
